Landmark

This is about an hour's drive from my home, and 20 miles south-west of Goldstone Deep Space Tracking Station. Rainbow Basin is an ancient lakebed where minerals have created an array of colors, and erosion has sculpted spectacular land formations. The fossilized remains of saber-toothed tigers, mastadons, camels, three-toed horses, and rhinoceros have been found here.
