"Thank You" Lord Jesus

What language shall I borrow
to thank thee, dearest friend,
for this thy dying sorrow,
thy pity without end?

O make me thine forever;
and should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never
outlive my love for thee.

From the hymn: "O sacred Head once wounded" (Bernard of Clairvaux)

Listen to the hymn.

I have never heard this hymn sung, but it is one of my favorites lyrically.

Andy,

Here is the hymn sung by Fernando Ortega. (I've never been able to listen to it without my eyes welling up with tears.)
